Reaching out to populations that may not otherwise seek out information about gender equality, Digital Public Square is testing the development of a gamified digital platform to address gendered social norms in Myanmar. The country’s 2021 coup has severely undermined gender equality, resulting in widespread violence against women and LGBTQ+ individuals.

Systemic discrimination and patriarchal norms have underscored the need for action to advance gender equality and inclusion.
This testing project’s goal is to increase support for gender equality in economic, social, and political spheres, using gamification to engage participants more deeply on the issue.

The platform is set to enable the testing teams to conduct continuous measurements and evaluations to inform iterations that strengthen impact in real time.

This project will collaborate with Sisters2Sisters, a women-led civil society organization in Myanmar to build solidarity around women’s rights through online social media campaigns.
