Canadian Physicians for Aid and Relief’s testing project examined the comparative effectiveness of menstrual cups and reusable menstrual pads in empowering girls and women in selected schools in rural Malawi to manage their menstrual health and thereby reduce absenteeism which contributes to poor educational outcomes. This innovative solution targeted girls from the time they begin to menstruate to provide the tools they need to manage their menstrual hygiene.
